We do reserve the right to refuse potential adopters
that we feel are not a good match for our horses.

If you are interested in one of our horses, please fill out the
adoption application. We will review your application and get
back  to you as soon as possible.

After we receive your application we will make an
appointment, at your convenience, so that you can meet the horse.

If you pass the reference check and application process,
and pass your stable visit, then you may sign our adoption agreement.

You may have your vet and trainer come check the horse.
The horse can be tried out on our farm.

The adopter gets rights to full ownership of the horse.

We do not have any restrictions on future use such as breeding.
We do not advocate breeding of rescued horses,
but we no longer claim ownership after the horse has been adopted.

At RERSI we offer a full refund for a 30 day trial period. We may
at our discretion, offer a prorated refund after the trial period
 is up, but encourage that the horse be donated back to RERSI.
We hope that you understand that once an animal is adopted, we
use that adoption fee to pay for the expenses of incoming rescues.

 We encourage that all RERSI adopted horses be returned
to RERSI. However, if the horse sold to an outside party and
not returned to RERSI directly, we ask to be notified first, and
ask for the new owners information. We do this so that we can
keep track of our horses and ensure that they remain safe
for the rest of their lives.

 The adopter, will be responsible for shipping costs
associated with returning the horse.

In the event that a horse is adopted from RERSI, but cannot
move to it's new home immediately, it may be boarded at RERSI
for a reasonable period of time. We have a boarding agreement, 
and the required donation for boarding the adopted horse is
$150.00 per month which includes worming and feeding. If the horse
needs farrier or veterinary care the adopter will be billed separately.

We are happy to deliver adopted horses to their new homes.
Unfortunately due to the unpredictability of the cost of fuel, our rates are
subject to change. The standard donation fee equals whatever the trip
costs us in gas, plus $10. per hour for our driving time each way.
